I've always considered a deep connection with water. Up until a few years ago, I had lived near a large body of water my entire life. It was my sanctuary, my place for peace. For as long as I could remember, any time I felt at odds in the world, or just needed some time to think, the soft sounds of water flowing, waves crashing, or even the glorious view of a waterfall was enough for me to forget all my troubles and get on with my life.
A little harder to do now that I'm in the Midwest, however, it's not exactly impossible to find that little bit of serenity.
This beautiful lily pond was taken at a Buddhist temple during my vacation this year to the south of Spain. It's tranquility brought me peace on what could have been a stressful vacation. (Try traveling with 2 boys under the age of 4)
that's beautiful. What an amazing place to be able to visit.
