Mother is the home we come from. She is nature, soil, ocean. Mother's love is peace. It need not be acquired, it need not be deserved.

44 Days of Witchery: Witchy Day #6
Favorite God: Poseidon
Being that water is my favorite element, it really is no surprise that one of my favorite deities would preside over it.
Whether you picture him as King Triton (Ariel's father on The Little Mermaid) or Percy Jackson's father (Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief), one thing remains clear. Poseidon is one cool dude!
Never to be taken for granted, Poseidon, the Greek God of the Sea, holds sway over storms as well as earthquakes. An equal to his brothers, Zeus and Hades, his powers are not to be taken lightly.
He could, after all bring forth a monsoon just for being mocked or ignored. But Poseidon isn't all scary. He introduced man to horses, and protected cities such as Corinth and Magna Gracea. He was also one of the caretakers of the oracle at Delphi until Apollo took over.
